Neste dia abrasador por Lisboa, resolvi "refrescar-me" com a publicação de uma das minhas hashtags favoritos pelo instagram, que criei desde que vim a Portugal.
Estas falésias deslumbrantes e imponentes, proporcionam estas vistas de cima do padrão típico de verão: vida na praia.
Pessoas miniaturas nas aguas e areias, chapéus de sol a cobrir e colorir a areia... BAM! Nasceu #beachlifepattern.
Estas foram tiradas no Algarve pelas praias que sempre adorei e que quis re-visitar.

Espero que se divirtam com este pseudo-voyeurismo, tanto quanto eu!

In this absolutely blazing day in Lisbon, I´ve decided to "cool-off" by publishing one of my favorite hashtags on instagram that I created ever since I arrived in Portugal. 
Stunning and stately cliffs, offer rad views from the top of the typical pattern of summer: beach life. 
Miniature people in the water and sand, umbrellas covering and coloring the sand... BAM! #beachlifepattern was born.
These were taken in Algarve throughout the beaches that I always loved and wanted to revisit.

Menina da oliveira // Olive tree girl

Num final de tarde, aproveitei o facto de que o verão tinha começado oficialmente há dias para fazer uma coroa e celebrar a sua chegada, como manda a tradição. Ramos de oliveira era o que tinha à mão e a simplicidade e este verde prateado, faz-me sorrir. Queria trazer a oliveira de volta comigo a Lisboa.
A minha filha claro, satisfaz as vontades fotográficas da mãe. Obrigada querida.

One late afternoon, I took the opportunity of summer arriving officially and created a solstice crown, as tradition calls. Olive branches were in hand and the simplicity and its silvery green, get me every time. I wished I could bring this olive tree back to Lisbon with me.
My daughter of course, satisfies all my photographic needs. Thank you sweetie.

É nossa e é bem gira. Desde o norte até ao sul!
É ventosa e às vezes fria mas é autêntica e ainda em estado bruto. Temos o sol sempre a pôr-se todos os dias deste lado a olhar para nós, a rir-se e a dizer-nos adeus, acenando-nos vaidosamente.

Ansiosa por explorar mais e ser "turista" na minha própria casa.

Is from Portugal and it is beautiful. From north to south!
It is windy and sometimes cold but it´s authentic with it´s raw charm. There´s the sun that always sets over on this side, smiling and waving proudly, saying good-bye.

Anxious to explore more and being a "tourist" in my own home.

Flamingo Wallpaper

Esta febre dos flamingos nasceu desde a altura que me mudei para a Florida! O calor, a luz, o clima tropical e os ícones tradicionais envolventes deste ambiente, continua a reinar!

E foram boias, e foram peluches, e foram enfeites de natal, e outras decorações que floresceram na minha casa por lá. 

Como fã incondicional, resolvi aproveitar para compor um wallpaper e partilhar com todos vós este bichinho lindinho e sinal de calor, para andarem convosco no telemóvel ou para o ecrã do computador.

This craziness over the flamingo started back when I moved to Florida. The warmth, the light, the weather and all the traditional symbols involving this atmosphere still continue to prevail.

And there were floats, plush animals, xmas decorations, amongst other things that flourished in my house over there. 

As an incondicional fan, I took the opportunity to come up with a wallpaper I made and wanted to share with you this cute and pretty animal, symbol of summer. You can carry it around you on your phone or computer screen.

Portugal em telefone // Portugal by phone

Obrigada Portugal por um tempo fantástico desde que cheguei!! Calorzinho bom sem humidade é do melhor que há. Lá na Florida estaria já a pingar sem suportar estar 2 minutos na rua. 

Nesta pausa longa por aqui, tenho andado a apreciar detalhes que outrora me teriam passado despercebido. Aprecio agora tudo com outros olhos, especialmente quando ando na rua ou vou desencantar tesourinhos velhos meus, que estavam guardados por cá. 

Adoro ver todo o nosso património histórico e dói-me o coração quando vejo um prédio com tanto potencial, completamente abandonado e esquecido. Os meus olhos foram habituados durante tanto tempo a arquitetura moderna num outro país, e agora vibro ao rever a minha linda cidade de Lisboa, antiga e charmosa.

Thank you Portugal for such an amazing weather ever since I arrived!! Nice warm weather without humidity is the best. Back in Florida I would be dripping sweat and struggling with being outside for more than 2 minutes.

During this long pause here, I´ve been appreciating details that otherwise I would have been completely oblivious about. I treasure everything with other eyes, specially when I wander the streets or when I find little old treasures of mine that were kept away here.

I love seeing our historical heritage and it breaks my heart when I see an old building fallen apart, forgotten and abandoned. My eyes were used to for so long to a different type of architecture from a different country, so now I vibrate with enthusiasm reliving and rediscovering my beautiful, old, charming city.

Apreciar o tempo, não andar a correr com horários e obrigações é o mote! Quero retomar em força ao crafting e expandir ideias e projetos. Vou sem dúvida sentir falta de algumas lojas dos States que eram de tão fácil acesso e oferta para todo o tipo de interesse e hobby. Já agora, se me puderem dar indicações de onde possa comprar parafernália de bricolage e hobbies, agradecia imenso!

Um até já e viva ao descanso e bom tempo :)

Enjoying this time, and not hurry with schedules or duties is my motto now. I want to get back on track with crafting and expanding ideas and projects. I will however miss tremendously some stores from the States that offered a wide variety of anything related to crafts and hobby´s. 

I´ll check back soon and thank goodness for rest and great weather :)

Cheira bem, cheira a Gulbenkian... // Smells good, smells like Gulbenkian...

Quem segue o meu instagram já deu conta que me encontro em Portugal. Desta vez por um período um pouco mais longo antes de prosseguir novas aventuras. Tempo para descansar, aproveitar, gozar, explorar, acompanhar e tratar de outros assuntos.
Já cá estou há duas semanas e nem dei por estes 15 dias passar. Tem sido mesmo um tempo de preguicite aguda e retomar tudo aos poucos.
Ansiosa por explorar novamente esta cidade, estar com a família e amigos e quem sabe encontrar-me com também amigos blogueiros :)

Fotografias do nosso passeio até ao jardim da Gulbenkian no outro dia. Filha adorou explorar todos aqueles recantos e soube bem tirar sapatos, sentar na relva e apreciar um local privilegiado no meio da confusão de Lisboa.

Um até já... aqui por terras lusas! ;)

Whoever follows me on instagram, knows by now that I am in Portugal. This time for a longer period before proceeding to new adventures. This is time for rest, enjoyment, pleasure, exploring, following and to take care of some matters.
I´ve been here for 2 weeks now and I´ve hardly felt the time go by. It has really been time for extreme laziness and slowly I will pick-up the chores. 
Excited to explore this city again, to be with family and friends and why not meet with some bloggers too :)

These are photos from our stroll to the Gulbenkian gardens, the other day. Daughter loved exploring every little corner and it was so nice to take off shoes, sit down on the lawn and take-in this beautiful, privileged place in the middle of the city.

Florida...terei saudades tuas // Florida...I will miss you

Pois 'e, os nossos dias pela Florida estão a terminar. Este será possivelmente o ultimo post feito aqui. Com um misto de tristeza e entusiasmo deixo novamente um lugar onde deixo parte do meu coração. Mudanças estão para vir mas entretanto vai haver um intervalo.
A vida gira e rodopia velozmente e se há algo que tiro disto tudo 'e experiência, coragem, adaptabilidade, resistência e tolerância.
Com pena deixo este lugar de luz, de calor, de vida tropical em constante modo de ferias, com vida rotineira de trabalho e luta pelo meio... Porem entusiasmada com novos horizontes.
Darei noticias brevemente.
Obrigada por acompanharem estas minhas aventuras e espero que tenham gostado destas tropicalidades do ultimo ano e tal.

That's right, our days in Florida are about to end. This could possibly be the last post from here. With mixed feelings I leave again a place where part of my heart is left behind. New begginings are approaching but in the meantime there will be a break.
Life twists and turns so fast and if there is anything to grasp for all of this is experience, courage, adaptability, resistance and tolerance.
I feel sorry to leave this place filled with light, warmth, tropical life on vacation mode sometimes and the routine of work and hardship in between.... However, I'm excited for new horizons.
I'll keep in touch soon.
Thank you for following my adventures and I hope you've enjoyed this tropical-like life from this past and so year.
I'll see you soon....

Desaparecida, e muito eu sei!
A vida deu umas reviravoltas e o facto de ter comecado um novo trabalho como fotografa a tempo inteiro ha ja uns meses, contribuiu tambem para a falta de tempo. Literalmente. Juntando-se a um cansaco tremendo, novos ajustes, novas realidades, e pegar na camara para intuito de brincadeira e lazer torna-se mais complicado, quando passamos o dia a "clicar" profissionalmente. 

Achei que vos devia uma explicacao. Espero retomar estas lides blogueiras o mais rapido possivel. Visitar-vos, dar um "oi" e entrar novamente neste lindo mundo inspirador.   

Ah sim, a Florida ca anda quente e agradavel. Nevoeiros matinais, tarde quentes e detalhes pequenos de primavera a brotar - diga-se florzinhas, para alem das habituais palmeiras.

Estarei por ai'. Ate ja :)

I've been very MIA I know.
Life suffered some twists and turns and having started a new full-time job as a photographer for a few months now, has contributed greatly to my lack of time. Literally. Adding to that, being extremely tired, new adjustments, new realities, and picking up the camera for fun and leisure becomes more complicated when you spend your whole day clicking professionally.

Thought I owed you an explanation. I hope to return very soon to these blogging days. To drop by and say "hi" and obviously being inspired.

Oh yes, Florida is fine with pleasant weather. Some foggy mornings, warm afternoons and little spring details sprouting - by that I mean little random flowers, besides the usual palm trees.

Um mes em telefone // A month in mobile

Ola' Fevereiro. Ja ca estas e nem dei por tu chegares.

O ano começou com muitas atividades crafty, coisinhas giras e vintage que entraram nesta casa, recebi o livro em que o meu irmão aparece  (esta e' a empresa dele) e houve dias mornos e bons. A grande vantagem de viver ca no sul, 'e evitar o inverno caótico de tempestades de neve, apesar de ter um pouquinho de saudades da branquitude.
FINALMENTE comecei a experimentar o macrame que ja tinha tanta vontade de o fazer desde o ano passado, quando lentamente o "boom" do regresso desta arte começou. Para alguém que tem um amor 'a arte manual, para ja tem sido um divertimento fantástico e ocupa-me com bastante alegria os tempos livres. Acho que por isso a fotografia esta posta um pouco de parte, porque os dedos e olhos estão ocupados com os nós. Alguem por ai' que esteja a fazer o mesmo? Adoraria ver o que andam a fazer.

Hi February. You're already here without giving any notice.

The year started off with lots of crafty activities, cute and vintage things entered this house, received a book where my brother is featured (this is his company) and we had nice and warm days. The great thing about living down south is avoiding the chaotic winter snowstroms, although I miss terribly all that whiteout.
FINALLY I started to experiment and learn macrame, that I've been wanting so bad to get started with since last year, when it hit that comeback "boom". For someone that has a love for handmade art, this has been so exciting and fun. I think that's why I've been slacking a bit on the photography side because my eyes and fingers are busy with knotting. Anyone out there on the same boat? Would love to see what you're making.
